About the museum
National monument and symbol of history
This project "Museum of the Second Session of the AVNOJ" was designed with the hope that it will contribute to the preservation of the anti-fascist tradition of the people of the former Yugoslavia and the entire region.
This goal is further inspired by the fact that modern European states base their democratic systems and mutual relations on anti-fascist values.
Our aim is to provide an objective and impartial interpretation of an important part of the 20th-century history of Southeastern Europe by exhibiting original documents, particularly the decisions made at the Second Session of the AVNOJ.
We invite visitors to the virtual museum to contribute with their suggestions, proposals, and efforts in discovering and donating lost items, documents, and audio-visual records from the wartime period of 1991–1995. This will help ensure that the Museum of the Second Session of the AVNOJ remains a permanent guardian of the anti-fascist tradition of the peoples of the region and Europe.
